Nadia Sawalha 'in love with JLS'

Former EastEnders actress Nadia Sawalha has admitted to falling in love with boyband JLS.

The Junior Masterchef judge was starstruck when the Everybody in Love stars made a guest appearance on the BBC show, the Press Association reports.

She told the news provider: "I discovered I'm in love with JLS. The kids had to cook for JLS, and everybody was like 'I wonder how they'll cope, they're going to be so excited' and of course they were excited, but actually I was a mess and they were amazing."

Junior Masterchef is a spin-off of the regular version of the show for contestants aged nine to 12.

As well as Sawalha, a former contestant on Celebrity Masterchef, the competitors are judged by John Torode who also judges the original version.

JLS are currently in the US where they are working on their second album. They are also planning a new single, called The Club is Alive, for release in July.

Nadia Sawalha excited to meet JLS

Nadia Sawalha has admitted she was more starstruck than the children when JLS made an appearance on Junior Masterchef.
The former EastEnders actress judges the BBC One show and was excited about the contestants cooking for the boyband.
She laughed: "I discovered I'm in love with JLS. The kids had to cook for JLS, and everybody was like 'I wonder how they'll cope, they're going to be so excited' and of course they were excited, but actually I was a mess and they were amazing."
And she said of the contestants, who are aged nine to 12: "They had this almost freaky composure for their ages."
Nadia, who presides over events alongside regular Masterchef judge John Torode, added that being a former contestant on Celebrity Masterchef meant she understood what the children were going through.
"I think it was invaluable that I'd gone through the whole experience because even though John has done endless series of this, he's never been the other side of the worktable. And I'm sorry but no matter now much he says he can imagine what it's like, he cannot! It is terrifying," she said.

LS Announce The Club is Alive Release

JLS are nice guys – everyone saw them on X Factor as genuine friends wanting to be pop stars.
Their new single reflects the problem with the TV pop competition though. They don’t want to make music particularly, they don’t want to write lyrics – they just want to be performers of songs, not musicians. This leaves them with little direction over their own sound; so they end up being packaged according to what is perceived as popular.
This worked with their first song – the background forces created a catchy pop hook that led to success. The Club is Alive though is an amelodic, overly produced mess. Their voices are tinkered with for no reason just leading to an annoying synth lyrics, which themselves are pretty meaningless.
A poor performance for the nice guys – but this can happen when you are buffeted around on the music companies will. Anyways, if you like car crashes, this is for you.

JLS deny Chris Brown rumours

JLS have dismissed a report which claimed that they were working on their second album with Chris Brown.

Earlier today, a tabloid suggested that the boyband had been writing and recording with Brown during their current US trip.

The report said that the controversial R&B star had helped JLS to produce "some great stuff" for their forthcoming sophomore disc.

However, writing on their official Twitter page, the group explained: "Just to clear rumours up, we have not recorded with Chris Brown and have no plans to either."

JLS's second album is due to be released later this year. Meanwhile, their new single'The Club Is Alive' will get its first radio airing on Monday.

JLS Toys Are Coming…

JLS really are taking over the world - they’ve got a plethora of hit singles under their belt, a range of multi-coloured hoodies and t-shirts, their very own condom range and now they’re preparing to unveil a line of toys.
No, not THAT kind of toy… but a kind of action figure toy, and for only £15 you’ll be able to buy your very own mini-version of Marvin, JB, Oritse or Aston and we are planning where we’re going to sit ours already.
Obviously Aston is going to be sat right next to my computer (Even if he does keep lifting his top up every time I see him on TV) and I’m going to give the ‘underwear ladies’ Marvin as I know they like him.
But I was just wondering, who are these dolls aimed at? If I give a small boy a JLS action figure… will all his friends call him a pansy? And will young girls actually play with action figures? I hate how this article has descended into me dragging out my old A-Level Sociology books… but I’m just sharing my thoughts.

JLS Aston: "Girls Pretend They Don't Know Me"

JLS star Aston Merrygold has revealed that he gets suspicious when girls say they have never heard of him.

In an interview with Take 5 magazine, the singer claimed that pretending not to know him is a typical technique used by admirers who have ulterior motives.

Speaking about how fame has affected his love life, Merrygold explained: "It's hard to find someone because of the whole trust thing.

"Girls come up and pretend they don't know who you are. But you soon see through that and work out who's genuine."

The 22-year-old added that he prefers to woo girls that he likes rather than being approached himself.

He said: "A bad sign is them coming up to me, because girls don't normally do that. Most leave it up to the guys to chat them up."

The X Factor

JLS auditioned for the fifth series of The X Factor in 2008. Following the elimination of vocal groups Bad Lashes and Girlband in weeks one and two respectively, JLS were Louis Walsh's last remaining act in the competition. In week 7 JLS were in the bottom two along with Rachel Hylton. However, they survived thanks to votes from Louis Walsh, Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell. Cowell stated when casting his deciding vote that JLS did not deserve to be in the bottom two. In week 8 JLS performed "...Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears. They received negative comments from the two of the four judges, with Simon Cowell saying "at the moment you're out". After their second performance, however, Cowell commented that they were "back in the race" and that they could "have a hit record" with that performance.

In week nine, JLS performed the second Rihanna song of the evening "Umbrella" (the first being Alexandra Burke's performance of "Don't Stop the Music"). Their second song was "I'm Already There" by Lonestar. When it was Cowell's turn to give his comments he said "I'm gonna make a prediction, you could actually win this competition". JLS gained the most votes in the semi-finals.

JLS made it to the final, after surviving the first public vote of the night in which Eoghan Quigg was voted off. They performed their own version of the winner's song, "Hallelujah", which the other finalist Alexandra Burke also performed. The public voted for the second time that night and Burke won the competition, JLS coming second. They were the fourth band to make the final (the others being G4, who came second in the first series, Journey South who came third in the second series and Same Difference who came third in the fourth series).

After The X Factor

Following JLS's success on the The X Factor, Simon Cowell's record company, Syco, announced that they were to sign JLS with an advance payment of £75,000. The Sun later reported that Cowell had revoked this offer and JLS were to be signed to Epic Records. In 2009, they released their debut, self-titled album, JLS and their debut single, Beat Again, both of which made it to number one on the UK Singles Chart. This was followed by their second number one song, Everybody In Love. These have set the benchmark for the third single, One Shot, which has already peaked at number six despite a physical release.

In 2010, JLS became the first X Factor contestants to win a Brit Award. Jo Whiley has claimed that JLS have profited from the demise of Chris Brown after revelations that he battered his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, with rapper Jay-Z stating that they will become as big as N*SYNC.
